













British Colonial Rosewood Cupboard with Pillars
Mid 19th centuryAn antique British colonial cupboard in rosewood with a flat top and egg and dart carving on the edge. The frames of the beautifully grained double doors feature reeded carving and floral blocks in the corners. The doors are flanked by solid spirally turned pillars. The bottom also with egg and dart carving and resting on inverted cup feet ending in a peg. The interior is fitted with four mahogany shelves.
The cupboard is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing. The Indian rosewood that this piece has been made of has a naturally occurring dark shade with a striking grain.
