British Colonial Rosewood Daybed
Late 19th centuryA British colonial open daybed in rosewood. The sides scrolled and with three square, caned panels each. The legs are elegantly turned and tapered and terminate with a ring and ball on a peg foot, all joined with plain square sectioned stretchers. The replaced seat is caned in one continuous section and the seat height is 55 cm or 21½”
The daybed is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing. The rosewood has a dark shade with a striking grain.
