British Colonial Rosewood Square Tilt Top Side TableMid 19th century
An antique British colonial square tilt top side table made of rosewood. The top is hinged to the central pedestal in such a way that it can be turned from a horizontal to a vertical position and, thereby, when not in use, take up less space. It rests on a bulbous reeded column surrounded by four spindles that end in a scroll. The quadro form base has carved hollowed sides with paw feet.
The table is in good condition and have been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional from of French polishing and waxing. The Indian rosewood that this piece has been made of has a rich warm shade with a striking grain.
