British Colonial Teakwood Filing Cabinet

Late 19th century

A good size antique British colonial filing cabinet made of Burma teakwood with a solid overhanging top. It features a teakwood tambour door that rolls up from bottom to the top to be locked there. It gives access to two rows of nine equal size sliding shelves. The shelve stops inside, prevent the shelves falling out. The piece rests on a plinth.

The cabinet is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing.
