British Colonial Carved Rosewood Sideboard
Mid 19th centuryA fine, antique carved rosewood sideboard. The overhanging top is made of one piece of rosewood with a carved border. The front is mounted with hinged doors that are intricately pierced and carved with an intertwining floral design. Both sides with a nice panel. The piece stands on a carved plinth, resting on four carved ball feet. The interior is fitted with one shelve.
The sideboard is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing. The Indian rosewood that this piece has been made of has a naturally occurring dark shade with a striking grain.
