British Colonial Rosewood Glass Front Sideboard

Mid 19th century

A small British colonial glass front sideboard in rosewood with a flat overhanging top with egg and dart carving on the side and wave carving between floral designs carvings on the frieze. The cabinet has double doors with glass panels within a dome shaped rosewood frame; they open to reveal two shelves. The serpentine shaped base is resting on four small bracket feet.

The sideboard is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing. The rosewood has a dark shade with a striking grain.
