British Colonial Mahogany Dining TableLate 19th century
A nice British colonial dining table in a fine dark mahogany. The rectangular top with rounded corners and a thumb-nail moulded edge above a deep frieze. The top is made of two pieces of wood and fixed to the base with brass screw pins. The solid tapering legs are turned reeded and terminate in a peg. The table can seat 6-8 people comfortably.
The table is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing. The mahogany has a rich warm shade with a striking grain.
