British Colonial Oval Rosewood Centre Table

Mid 19th century

A beautiful British colonial Victorian centre table in rosewood. The serpentine shaped oval top rest on four cabriole legs. The apron is on all sides beautifully carved and pierced with foliate designs. The four cabriole legs are also richly carved with a floral design and terminate in leafy scrolls on a peg foot. They are joined by carved and scrolled stretchers that meet in a central finial.

The table is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing. The Indian rosewood that this piece has been made of has a naturally occurring dark shade with a striking grain.
