

















British Colonial Teakwood Cylinder Desk
Late 19th centuryAn elegant British colonial teakwood cylinder desk with a rectangular moulded top and a cylinder fall-front. The top opens to reveal a fitted interior which consists of a four pigeon holes, each above a small drawer with a brass pull. The pull-out writing slide has an adjustable writing slope and storage compartments. It stands on four tapering cabriole legs. The front and rear legs are connected with a stretcher, the two hind legs connected by a solid footrest.
The desk is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing. The Burma teak wood that this piece has been made of has a warm colour and an attractive, straight grain.
