Cedarwood and Rosewood Art Deco Wardrobe

Early 20th century

An Art Deco wardrobe made of nicely contrasting cedarwood and rosewood. Typical to Art deco style the cupboard features geometrical shapes with an emphasis on vertical lines and has a smooth streamlined surface. The doors open to a a fitted interior in teakwood, perfect to store clothes.

Art Deco was derived from the Exposition  Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes, held in Paris in 1925, where the style was first exhibited. Art Deco design represented modernism turned into fashion. It combined modern styles with fine craftsmanship and rich materials.
