Pair of British colonial Rosewood Side Tables

Mid 19th century

A pair of British colonial square side tables in rosewood. The tables consist of a square top supported on a beautifully turned column that is densely carved with leaves. The top is carved around the edges with gadrooning above an applied apron. The column rests on a base with four cabriole legs with acanthus leaf on the knee and ending in claw feet.

The tables are in good condition and have been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing. The Indian rosewood that this piece has been made off has a naturally occurring dark shade with a striking grain.
