British Colonial Rosewood Cupboard

A British colonial cupboard in rosewood with a flat top, egg and dart carving on the edge and wave carving on the frieze centred by a floral block. The frames of the beautifully grained double doors are carved with elongated reserves and circles in the corners. The bottom finished with a gadrooned moulded edge and resting on bun feet ending in a ring. The mahogany interior is fitted with four shelves.
The cupboard is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing. The Indian rosewood that this piece has been made of has a naturally occurring dark shade with a striking grain.
