British Colonial Plain Rosewood CupboardMid 19th century
A British colonial cupboard in rosewood with a flat top with gadrooning on the edge The frames of the beautifully grained double doors feature reeded carving and floral blocks in the corners. The bottom finished with gadrooning and resting on melon sectioned bun feet. The interior is fitted with four mahogany shelves.
The cupboard is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing. The Indian rosewood that this piece has been made of has a naturally occurring dark shade with a striking grain.
